MedDRA coding, practiced live
Learn to code against the real dictionary — not a slide deck.
MedDRA Learner runs your search, browse, and coding practice straight through the live MedDRA API — the same terminology regulators and safety teams code against every day. Bring your own MedDRA subscription for full SOC-to-LLT visibility, or start solo on a day pass scoped to LLT-level practice.
Why start at LLT? MedDRA best practice is to always code to the LLT closest to the term as reported — so that's the exact skill this tier trains.
MedDRA® is a registered trademark of ICH.
The LLT is what you'd code; hover or click the other levels above it to reveal the hierarchy. This sequence is illustrative, not real MedDRA content — your own account queries the current MedDRA release directly, under your subscription.
How it works
Three steps, whichever plan you're on.
Search or browse
Type a verbatim and search live, or walk the hierarchy tree yourself, System Organ Class down to Lowest Level Term.
Code the term
Pick the Preferred Term that matches the reported event. An AI tutor gives hints without ever handing you the answer.
Everything's logged
Every lookup and coding decision writes to an append-only audit trail — built for 21 CFR Part 11 from day one.
Two ways to use MedDRA Learner
Your subscription decides how much hierarchy you see.
MedDRA's own licensing terms are strict about who can see what — we built the product around that rather than around it.
Full hierarchy, your subscription
For sponsors, CROs, and safety teams with their own MedDRA license.
- ✓ Requires your organization's own active MedDRA subscription — we're a licensed training layer on top of it, not a substitute for one
- ✓ One login per associate, always — no more pooling a single MedDRA username and password across your team
- ✓ Removes the credential-sharing breach risk that comes with everyone using one shared subscription login
- ✓ Purpose-built to train and certify associates, without touching your live coding queue
- ✓ Full SOC → HLGT → HLT → PT → LLT visibility, on your own MedDRA API credentials
- ✓ Audit trail export, 21 CFR Part 11 controls, GDPR tooling
LLT-level practice, no subscription needed
For anyone learning to code who doesn't hold a MedDRA license personally.
- ✓ Search and practice against real LLT verbatim terms — the same matching skill you'll use on the job, since coders pick an LLT and the rest of the hierarchy follows automatically
- ✓ Builds the skill that matters most for accuracy: most real coding errors happen at LLT selection, not PT/SOC classification
- ✓ No MedDRA subscription required on your end
- – PT, HLT, HLGT, and SOC are not shown — MedDRA hierarchy is licensed content
- – Single-seat, day-pass access
Public / Individual accounts
Your account will only ever show LLT-level terms. The full MedDRA hierarchy — PT, HLT, HLGT, and SOC — is licensed content under a MedDRA subscription issued by the MSSO on behalf of ICH. Showing that hierarchy to someone who doesn't hold a subscription is a violation of the MedDRA license, so this tier never does, under any circumstance. This tier exists solely for your own individual training and coding practice — not for production pharmacovigilance coding or regulatory submission work.
Enterprise accounts
You must hold a valid, currently active MedDRA subscription issued directly by the MSSO before your organization can use the Enterprise tier — we verify this, we don't grant or substitute for it. Once your subscription is on file, your team sees the full hierarchy, SOC through LLT, for your organization's internal training and coding-support purposes.
