MedDRA Learner — Public Tier Terms (Draft)

Status: DRAFT — not a legal document until reviewed and issued by qualified counsel. This exists to give a lawyer a running start, not to replace one.

1. What you're signing up for

This is a personal account on MedDRA Learner's Public tier, run by Drugvigil. Use it only to practice and train yourself on medical coding. Do not use it for real pharmacovigilance case processing, production coding, or regulatory submissions.

2. You only get LLT-level terms

Your account shows LLT (Lowest Level Term) content only. It will never show PT, HLT, HLGT, or SOC — the rest of the MedDRA hierarchy. That full hierarchy is licensed content controlled by the MSSO (on behalf of ICH), and showing it to someone without their own MedDRA subscription would violate the MedDRA license.

We restrict this tier to LLT so you can practice legally without a subscription. This restriction is enforced on our servers. No plan, payment, or account age changes it — you cannot pay to unlock more of the hierarchy on this tier.

3. This account is not a MedDRA subscription

Nothing here grants you a MedDRA subscription, replaces one, or implies you have one. If your work needs the full hierarchy, you or your employer need our Enterprise plan, backed by an active MedDRA subscription from the MSSO.

4. How long your access lasts

Your account works for the length of the pass you bought — 10 or 30 days from activation. Access stops automatically when it expires; you need a new pass to keep going. Passes can't be transferred and belong only to the person who created the account.

5. No guarantee the coding is correct

This tool is for training and practice. We don't guarantee that any term suggestion, search result, or AI tutor hint is correct, or that it replaces your own judgment or feedback from a certified coding instructor.

6. What data we collect

We collect what's needed to run your pass — your name, email, and your own coding activity (for tracking your progress) — plus account-level activity logs for security. We do not collect patient-level or case-level pharmacovigilance data through this tier.

7. Trademark note

MedDRA® is a registered trademark of ICH. MedDRA Learner and Drugvigil are independent of ICH and the MSSO, and not affiliated with either.

Presented as a mandatory, logged clickwrap checkbox at /signup referencing this document's version (current_public_agreement_version system setting) — acceptance is recorded via agreement_acceptances (user, tenant, timestamp, IP, version), same append-only mechanism already used for the enterprise NDA acceptance at invite-accept. Ask to have the checkbox text updated once this document is finalized by counsel.
